Chris Rovillo graduated from North Texas State University in 1973 and joined the Neiman Marcus advertising department as an art director. Two years later, he accepted a position with Bloom Advertising in the Collateral Group as an art director and designer. After a year at Bloom, Rovillo returned to Neiman Marcus for another two years. He joined Richards, Brock, Miller, Mitchell and Associates upon formation of the firm in 1978 as a graphic designer and became a principal in 1983. In 1990 Chris left RBMM&A to form his own company, Rovillo Design Associates. Rovillo Design Associates has had the privilege to maintain working relationships with both RBMM and Neiman Marcus. Rovillo attributes his success to hard work while keeping a sense of humor. He has served as faculty member of the graphic design departments of the University of North Texas and Texas A&M, Commerce, and has participated in various visiting instructor programs, including Texas Christian University, as well as appearing as a guest speaker for various organizations.
Chris has judged graphic design competitions across the country, including the Mead Annual Report Show, the A.R.100 and Communication Arts. He is a past president of the Dallas Society of Visual Communications and is a founding member of the Texas chapter of the AIGA. His work has been recognized by a number of major national and international creative organizations. Chris is a recipient of the Golden Egg award, the highest honor that can be given to a designer by the DSVC.
